| ABSTRACT The present study evaluated the accumulation and export of nutrients in cactus pear (Opuntia ficus-indica) cv. Gigante, fertilized with combinations of nitrogen (10, 70, 100, 130, and 190 kg ha−1 year−1 N) and phosphorus (10, 70, 100, 130, and 190 kg ha−1 year−1 P2O5) under annual and biennial harvests, in Quixadá and Tejuçuoca, using a split-plot randomized block design with four replications. | Abstract Nutrient need in each development stage of plant is showed by nutrient accumulation curve; this is an important tool for fertilization recommendation. However, researches on vegetables with the objective to estimate these curves are scarce, mainly in the modern hybrids that show higher productivity potential and, probably, higher nutrient demand. | ABSTRACT The utilization of organic wastes in agriculture is an alternative that can reduce the amounts of mineral fertilizers applied to the soil. The aim of this study was to evaluate the accumulation of macronutrients in sunflower cv. 'Hélio 250' fertilized with cassava wastewater. The experiment was conducted in randomized block design, with six treatments (0; 8.5; 17; 34; 68 and 136 m3 ha-1 of cassava wastewater) and four replications. The accumulation of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and sulfur (S) were evaluated in leaves, stem, capitulum and achenes. | Little is currently known about modifications in edaphic characteristics caused by short-rotation eucalyptus and the impacts of these alterations on the sustainability of eucalyptus wood production. This study was carried out to identify theses changes at five sites of eucalyptus plantation in the region of the Rio Doce Valley, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Areas with more than three previous eucalyptus cycles, adjacent to pasture land or native forest, were chosen. | O uso de silicato é uma prática que vem sendo adotada com frequência em culturas anuais, muito embora poucos trabalhos tenham sido realizados com intuito de verificar sua eficiência em espécies florestais arbóreas. O objetivo principal desta pesquisa foi avaliar o efeito da aplicação de silicatos de cálcio e de potássio no crescimento de mudas de Eucalyptus grandis. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação, no Município de Alambari, SP. | O efeito do zinco aplicado, em sementes na nutrição do sorgo, é afetado pelas fontes e doses empregadas. O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar a aplicação de zinco, a partir de duas fontes, sobre a nutrição e o crescimento inicial da cultura do sorgo cv. BRS 304, cultivado em areia. Os tratamentos foram cinco doses (0; 14,3; 28,6; 57,2 e 114,4 g kg-1 de semente) e duas fontes de zinco, o sulfato (22% de Zn) e o óxido (50% de Zn). Aos 25 dias após a semeadura, efetuou-se o corte das plantas, e avaliou-se a massa seca da parte aérea e das raízes, e determinou-se o teor e o acúmulo de Zn nas plantas. | Succulents present great commercial importance, but information on the cultivation of these plants are not enough, especially considering the use of fertilizers during the growth phase. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different fertilizers applied to the substrate in the cultivation of Kalanchoe luciae Raym.-Hamet. Cuttings measuring 6 cm in height and 12 cm in diameter were cultivated in 1.5 L pots containing the substrate (1 soil: 1 sand: 1 vermiculite). | To evaluate biomass components of Massai grass under five doses of N (0, 150, 300, 450 and 600 mg N/dm³ soil) during three cycles of growth (establishment, regrowth 1 and regrowth 2) this study was carried out. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, in a completely randomized design with measures repeted over time and five replications. In the three cycles, nitrogen doses had increasing linear effect on green herbage dry matter (GHDM), green leaf dry matter (GLDM), on the tiller population density (TPD) and on forage density.
